Description
This sample form is intended to assist an investment adviser firm in documenting its risk assessment, supervision duties and annual review and assessment of its compliance program (i.e. policies/procedures).
The SEC has provided guidance that an investment adviser firm’s annual review of its compliance program should include developing or updating its assessment of the various risks facing the firm. This sample form consists of an Excel spreadsheet with a tab showing various examples of risks facing an investment adviser firm, a tab with a chart to document various supervisory duties and a tab for logging a review of an investment adviser firm’s compliance program.
This sample form should be considered as a starting point; the investment adviser firm will need to customize this sample form to its business model and policies and procedures. This sample form is a basic tool which is not comprehensive of all potential compliance requirements/issues. There are numerous compliance requirements which are not addressed at all or in significant detail by this sample form.
